CIF champions, and it feels good to say it. On March 6, 2006, our Sea King boy's soccer team ended their

incredible streak with a CIF championship trophy. Their win in the finals wasn't exactly sweet, tying the Santa

Ana Valley High School team 1-1, in a grueling battle that lasted the full 90 minutes. Unfortunatly, according to

CIF rules, they could not continue into overtime, because of the lack of time and fields. Coach Bruce Myhre

said,"We walked off the field like we lost. I liked that." Coach Myhre was named Coach of the year for their

division, and also developed a game called cageball, that helped the Sea Kings along their long CIF path. But

next year the Sea Kings face the new challenge of the Bay League. Also after losing seven key players, including

Tony Hoefer and Michael Petow,they will have some trouble dealing with the Panthers and other Bay League

teams. But award winning coach Bruce Myhre is returning for another rock hard season, looking for back to

back titles.
